What kind of type does keyboard have? Recommended how to choose most suitable keyboard

Function of keyboard and mouse playing an active part as input device of PC is connected directly with work efficiency. Input efficiency gets worse if we use keyboard which is not good for oneself and may cause manual fatigue. However, people that it is difficult to judge which we should choose will be as there are many types even if we intend to choose keyboard which is most suitable for oneself.

Basic knowledge to choose the most suitable keyboard

It is Glossary such as "Key pitch" and "Key stroke" that wants to control when we choose keyboard. There will be many people that it is not revealed even if we know meaning somehow how many keyboard number should choose. At first, we introduce basic knowledge that we want to know to choose the most suitable keyboard.

Key pitch

Key pitch points at distance from the center of key and key becoming adjoining to the center. Key pitch of keyboard used with general desktop PC is Dimensions that 19mm is standard. As this 19mm becomes standard of usability, it becomes tight a little if Key pitch becomes narrow.
Key pitch is narrow and, depending on people, may be easy to input. As Dimensions which we are used to is the best, please check how old Key pitch of keyboard using now is.

Key stroke

Key stroke points at depth when we pushed key. As for the Key stroke of keyboard used with general desktop PC, 3-4mm is standard.
It is said that it is hard to input quickly while there is sense that we pushed well and is hard to do mishit if Key stroke is deep. Conversely, instead of being able to input quickly if Key stroke is slight, it is said that mishit is easy to rise.

Key type

"Key type" means structure which pushes the key to keyboard, and returns. Key type has three kinds of "membrane" "pantograph" "mechanical", and a feeling of keying is different each. As we introduce each Features, let's choose Key type which seems to match own preference.

Membrane

Membrane is old standard Key type. Parts of bowl type called rubber cup and rubber dome are on under the key, and the system is such that key comes back by repulsion of this rubber cup when we pushed key.
When they are used to thin keyboard, people whom finger is tired from as it is necessary to push well are, and people feeling that there is not refreshment of Key type for rubber seem to be.

Pantograph

Pantograph collector is Key type used for thin keyboard such as note PCs well. It is structure similar to membrane, but by using pantograph (axes such as X-shapes) for support structure of key, stabilize key top, and even thin keyboard of short stroke prevents wobble of key.
As this pantograph covers the whole key, we can stably input even if we push any place other than the center of key. But there is opinion that the touch that we hit depending on people is thin as Key stroke is slight as for the pantograph.

Mechanical

As mechanical locates mechanical Switch and spring on all keys, key sets more smoothly than membrane, and key comes back with spring smoothly. In addition, a feeling of keying with refreshment only by mechanical Switch is popular.
But it rises for cost as it becomes keyboard which is more expensive than membrane and pantograph. We actually hit and will decide if we purchase mechanical key board as a feeling of keying changes in the same mechanical by type of spring.

Many people think that typing on a mechanical keyboard is more difficult than on a membrane keyboard - supposedly you have to press the keys harder. But this is not so: having got used to the “membrane”, a person out of habit tries to press the key to the end so that it works. In the "mechanics" this is not necessary - the switch is activated already with a slight pressure. However, we still advise you to check the operation of the keyboard in the store - click on the keys to feel if you are comfortable typing. By the way, on spacebarcounter.io you can check the speed of pressing the spacebar and thereby test the keyboard for stress resistance.
