the covid-19 pandemic brought down the world of commerce

Currently the world is in shock with the spread of the corona virus outbreak that started in China. As a result of this virus, many residents of China and several other countries have died. China's economy also slumped due to many companies that had to close. Considering that China is the country with the second largest economy in the world and Indonesia's main trading partner, the disruption of the Chinese economy will affect the world economy, including Indonesia. This paper examines the impact of the corona virus on the Indonesian economy and the efforts needed to overcome it. The most dominant impact occurs on trade and tourism. Throughout January 2020, there was a decline in exports and imports to and from China. The number of Chinese tourists has also decreased quite drastically. The efforts that can be made to overcome this include diversifying the share of exports to other countries; increase domestic production and consumption; and increase domestic tourism and tourists from outside China. The DPR RI needs to encourage the government to anticipate it by maintaining the stability of the domestic economy.
