Composition

Marble is a natural stone constructed by the limestone, by mutation of calcium carbonate. Floor tiles, on the other hand, are made of silicate or clay that has been flamed at high temperatures.

The stain-proof feature is another feature that distinguishes both options from one another. Whereas marble tends to stain easily, tiles do not.

Classifications

Marble comes in a wide range of shades and colors as a result of the geological processes that formed the stone. Tiles are also available in a variety of materials, including terra cotta, quarry tiles, glass, and even porcelain.

Porosity

Because marble is a stone with a strong crystalline structure, it has a relatively high porosity when compared to tiles. As a result, marble can be polished to a gleaming sheen. Tiles have a low porosity and are thus ideal for use in high moisture environments.
