Julianne Moore Regrets Ruining Her Eyebrows When She Was Young

Julianne Moore has one big regret in terms of beauty, which is ruining her eyebrows. He said, early in his career he plucked his eyebrows alias tweezing excessively following the trend at the time. So he advised his daughter, Liv Freundlich, not to do the same. 

The 61-year-old actress and her 20-year-old daughter appeared for the Hourglass Cosmetics campaign. In the campaign she revealed some of her beauty tips .

"One thing I always tell my kids is don't touch their eyebrows ," she says. "Don't break your eyebrows like I did, and many other women I know."

The "We Glow" campaign for the Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Soft Glow Foundation focuses on five mothers and daughters, including Moore and Freundlich. The 30 Rock star says he gets a lot of inspiration and encouragement when he's with someone he cares about and loves. Moore said he and his daughter really cheer each other on.

The Still Alice actress also advised her daughter that makeup should not be excessive until her real face is no longer recognizable. So what's in her makeup bag? "I love eyebrow pencils because, you know, I ruined my brows decades ago like I said," Moore says. 

The Academy Award winner is also one of the makeup tricks learned on set, Moore advises readers to imitate the natural emotions of the face when applying makeup. "Like when we wear blush, we smile when we apply blush," he said. "If you're curious about where to put your makeup on, think about where your face naturally moves."

Regarding her gorgeous red hair, the "The End of the Affair" star says she relies on hairstylist Vickie Vidov in the West Village to keep the color looking fresh.

"We recently switched to semi-permanent dyes," he says. “Since I'm a natural redhead, I love that this new color fades naturally, so there's no demarcation. I've always wanted to keep my original color, without looking fake, as is the case with hair dye."

On the topic of getting older, Julianne Moore reflected that over time, people develop, relationships change, and some relationships deepen. "That's the beauty of aging, that you can experience all of this," he said.
