The Digital World Continues to Grow

The development of digitalization, lifestyle and the digital economy in Indonesia is increasingly rapid and evenly distributed in the country. Firstsideguide.com data shows that Indonesia is now in the top 10 countries with the highest number of startups, namely 2,198 startups.

According to the Founder of the Institute of Social Economic Digital (ISED) Sri Adiningsih, in the future digitalization will enter all lines of life. Even the development in a decade will increase up to five times.

"Therefore, everyone must be proficient in digital developments," said Sri Adiningsih in the NGOBRAL webinar (Digital Chat with the theme Digital Cakap Avoid Disinformation, Tuesday (23/11/2021).

The event, which was held in the framework of ISED's 2nd anniversary, presented Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendi, Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate, Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim, and Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga.

Also present were Police Brigadier General Muharrom Riyadi as the Head of Media Divhumas Polri, character education expert Ratna Megawangi, YLKI Chair Tulus Abadi and a number of other resource persons from various sectors.

Sri Adiningsih explained, seeing this development, everyone must be able to adapt to digitalization. In the economic sector, the internet economy is expected to grow 49% from 2020 to 2021. He projects that the online lifestyle will continue in the future and will continue to grow.

"However, currently there are a number of challenges faced, namely related to data security and the security of economic transactions," explained the UGM Professor.

Another ISED founder, Rudiantara added, in the future technology and humans will complement each other, in line with the concept of society 5.0, namely humans as a center (a human-centered society).

So it is hoped that the direction of human development going forward, digitalization can improve the quality of human life while still prioritizing humans as the control center that cannot be replaced by any digital technology sophistication.

"HR development is important to improve both in terms of competence, skills and potential because human resources will be a major part of the nation's growth in the future," he said.
