As far as nature goes, most Texans think about the deep woods of the Big Thicket, or the numerous creeks wriggling through towns, or the brackish waters of the Gulf Coast. Waterfalls aren't actually widely known destinations here, and I in fact have not seen a lot of in Texas. 5) Krause Springs

This natural swimming hole boasts beautiful cypress trees and plenty of shade on a hot summer day. The soft trickle from the waterfall makes this the perfect getaway for relaxation.

6) Westcave Preserve Falls

This waterfall tumbles 40 feet over lush plant life into a swimming pool listed below. The only way to see it is by doing a guided trip, but the $10 fee is well worth it for the view.

7) Cattail Falls

You'll need to do some off-the-map hiking to reach these falls in Big Bend National Park, but if you have some good treking boots, you'll get to see a surprise oasis of sheer appeal.

8) Waterfall at Boot Spring Path

Despite the fact that it's not technically a waterfall, this path at Big Bend National forest provides a lot of wildlife and relaxing scenery, and the noise of the flowing water at the trail head only contributes to the ambiance. Huge Bend, by far, has the most waterfalls in Texas, so make the drive out to the wild, wild west if you wish to see all 4 of them in the park!
