Enterprise Edition vs. Community Edition

This article will give you an insight in comparing the two popular online marketing systems that are Odoo Community and Enterprise. Both are basic, free versions of Odoo that can be used to aid businesses with selling online. The Enterprise version is more robust than the Community version and comes with a variety of additional features. What are the main differences between these two systems? What are the benefits of each system?

Compared to Community version, Enterprise version comes with a few advantages, particularly for businesses with more employees. The Enterprise version offers a variety of advantages which include the ability to customize tools such as Customer Management, HR and HR administration. Additionally, the system also includes Social Media and Content Management tools for enhanced management of the company's social networking activities and the content.

The Enterprise version also includes advanced features such as integrated Google Maps and Google Analytics in addition to Gmail. It comes with a variety of options that make it easier for social media campaigns to be put into place. These include forums for community and user groups, which are extremely useful in boosting traffic to an organization's site. The Enterprise version is fully functional support which is its biggest advantage. Contrary to the community edition which has only a few functions and features. In addition, the software is accompanied by a licensing fee that is smaller than the Community edition has.

The biggest disadvantage of odoo Enterprise edition's limited functionality isn't its shortcomings. The biggest drawback odoo community vs enterprise stems due to the fact that it doesn't have the capability to automatize the majority of the processes needed to run an enterprise. It does not have the full range of features needed to manage social media. It is not as appealing to smaller businesses due to its lack of functional support, and the limitations in the number of licenses. It lacks features that would attract large companies. This is why large companies use the version for community use.

Another disadvantage of odoo is Enterprise Manager, an application that is essential for the deployment of enterprise-specific applications. Although the software can be downloaded at no cost, Enterprise Manager must be purchased in order to install it. The application is quite complex and could deter many small companies from using it for deployment purposes. Enterprise Manager users find it difficult managing the systems of their organizations because it has many complicated features. This can also make enterprise users hesitant to upgrade to the paid version of the program, especially those who do not have enough knowledge of computer software.

The third issue with the community edition is that it lacks advanced features similar to an enterprise version such as Google Maps and automated social media marketing. However the open source edition includes these modules. They are useful for companies who want to expand their business horizons and embrace the latest trends in online marketing. The modules in the open source version of odoo provide a clear advantage to companies using it for these purposes.

The version for community use of odoo has a few other drawbacks too, though they aren't as common as the ones cited above. One of the disadvantages is that it's not compatible with Microsoft ERP. MMC (Microsoft customer relation management) and MRM(multi-tier product administration) are some ERP modules included in the enterprise edition. If you are using the community version, you will be unable to integrate these modules with the enterprise edition of odoo ERP.

Small businesses have been using enterprise resource management software for more than five years. It is still well-known. The lucrative terms of licensing are also the reason for the success of the enterprise version. On the other hand the free version was less successful in the marketplace, despite its impressive features. Is there a legitimate reason to choose the free version of the odoo ERP for small businesses? The consensus is "No".
