Part of your video game return to Madden is celebrating Nike's legendary Bo Knows campaign. Bring us back to beginning. What was the way Bo Knows presented the concept that Bo Knows was the name of Bo Knows to you?

We came across Bo Knows accidentally. Directors, writersand sketchers We had just been sitting at a table discussing storyboards to shoot our next project. We wanted to cut the length of the script because it was quite long. Everyone was giving their opinions on this and this. I just said, 'Why can't we do this? ... Why do we not move this over here, place this together, and take out five or six hours?' They looked to me in awe and then replied "Wow. It's probably a good idea. A person across the table glanced at me , and they said 'Bo Knows!' The phrase stuck. No one sat down and ran through their thoughts or stayed up late with that phrase. The incident just occurred while sitting around the war table going over the latest news.

Before you were able to get an iconic shoe, for instance, the Nike Air Bo Turf, in 1990, you starred in the Nike Air Trainer 3, which became known as your shoe. What are the memories you have regarding this shoe? Air Trainer 3?

Well, I'll put it to you like this. In 1969 my time in the first grade , growing up in rural Alabama, during the winter months, it was in between 30 and 40 degrees out. And I was required to go to school barefoot. Shoes were not allowed. I'm not expressing this for empathy or as a sob story. But I do remember my brother being a block further away from his home. I'm standing at the front door. There was a sister standing just a few blocks from my younger brother, and my other sister was at an intersection at the bus stop. My sister, who was at the bus stop could see that the bus had climbed the hill a couple of miles away from her, she'd shout towards my younger sister. She would then yell at my brother, and my brother would yell to me. Then I'd take off out the door with my feet in the air. And by the time my brother reached my first sister I'd have spotted him earlier. As we made it close to our bus stop I was 15 to 20 yards from my sister and brother.
