Venom Actor Riz Ahmed claims to represent Muslim Characters in Hollywood

The Hollywood film industry in recent years has been busy with the issue of representation. Lately, the issue of representation is often echoed by actors and actresses of Asian descent in the Hollywood industry who are often ignored. Now the same anxiety comes from the Muslim actor who plays Venom, Riz Ahmed.
Riz Ahmed has played in many television series to feature films. Apart from Venom he has also starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jason Bourne, Nightcrawler, Mogul Mowgli, and Sound of Metal.

In a YouTube video that has also gone viral on social media, Riz Ahmed revealed the lack of representation of characters and players in the film industry. In addition, he also highlighted how Muslims in the film seem invisible or appear with stereotypical and bad characters.
"The problem of the lack of Muslim representation in the film industry can no longer be ignored. This is a problem that cannot be solved by a handful of Muslims in the film business," he said.
In the same video, Riz Ahmed also highlights how Oscar-winning films such as American Sniper, The Hurt Locker, and Argo, are racist works. According to Riz Ahmed, these films feature Muslim characters who are inhumane and very bad.
