APJ Abdul Kalam- The Famous Indian Scientist Who Became The President of India

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Tamil Nadu. He served as the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007. He was an Indian scientist who made noteworthy contributions in the field of science. He started working at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He worked as an aerospace engineer and designed helicopters for the Indian Army.

In1969, he was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), where he was the project director of SLV- III, India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle. The vehicle successfully deployed the satellite Rohini in the near-earth orbit in 1980. Under the leadership of APJ Abdul Kalam, India saw rapid development in missile production and nuclear weapons programs. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on 27 July 2015.

Meghnad Saha – Chief Architect on River Planning in India

Meghnad Saha was a very famous Indian scientist who made a significant contribution to the field of science. He was born sixth October 1893, in Shaoratoli. It is a village near Dhaka which, was then a part of the Bengal Presidency. Meghnad Saha developed the Ionization equation. It is one of the basic tools for interpreting the physical and chemical conditions in stars. He also developed an instrument for measuring the weight and pressure of solar rays. Meghnad Saha was also known as the chief architect on river planning in India. The original plan of the Damodar Valley Project was prepared by him. He passed away on 16 February 1956 in New Delhi.

Jagadish Chandra Bose – Father of Bengali Science Fiction

Jagadish Chandra Bose was born on 30th November 1858 in Mymensingh in the Bengal Presidency. He was a very famous Indian scientist who made a significant contribution to the field of science. He is known as the father of Bengali science fiction. He invented the crescograph, a device that could measure the growth of plants. Jagadish Chandra Bose also played a pioneering role in the investigation of microwave optics and radio. He also opposed patenting any of his inventions. A crater has been named after him on the moon to honor him. He passed away on 23rd November 1937.

C.V. Raman – The Raman Effect

Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was an important figure and very famous Indian scientist who made noteworthy contributions in the field of science. Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was born on 7th November 1888 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. He was an Indian scientist and physicist who had immense contributions in the field of light scattering. He is best known for his discovery of the phenomenon of scattering of light which is famously known as the Raman effect. Venkatraman Radhakrishnan

Venkatraman Radhakrishnan was born in Tondaripet, a suburb of Chennai. He was a well-known and famous Indian scientist who has made noteworthy contributions in the field of science. He was born on 18 May 1929 and was a globally renowned and famous Indian scientist. He was also and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Venkatraman Radhakrishnan was known for his design and fabrication of ultralight aircraft and sailboats. His theoretical insights and observations helped the world in unraveling many mysteries surrounding interstellar clouds, galaxy structures, pulsars, and various other celestial bodies. He died in Bangalore at the of 81.

Vikram Sarabhai

Vikram Sarabhai was born on 12 August 1919 in the city of Ahmedabad. He was a famous Indian scientist who made noteworthy contributions in the field of science. He played an instrumental role in the setting up of ISRO. Vikram Sarabhai convinced the Indian government of the importance of a space program for a developing nation after the launch of the Russian Sputnik. In 1966, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
