Characteristics Of The Materials And Composition Of Furniture Elements

If you are going to purchase new furniture, then it will not hurt you to find out the properties of the materials from which it is made. Below are the main characteristics of the materials from which modern furniture is made.

Laminate

It is a chipboard board with a thickness of 15 mm, with a surface plastic layer, finished with valuable wood species. Laminate is used to produce kitchen furniture, as well as most of the well-known sectional furniture walls.

The great advantage of this material is that it is relatively inexpensive. However, the surface of laminate furniture is somewhat monotonous, hence it is often boring in appearance and therefore needs decoration. The appearance of laminated furniture can be significantly improved by inserting tinted glass or mirrors into the facades of the cabinets.

MDF

Today this material occupies, perhaps, the No. 1 position in terms of its prevalence and popularity. For the price it is more expensive than laminate, but stronger and more durable. Furniture made of MDF looks great and can have a wide variety of colors. The invaluable advantage of MDF is that this material allows themanufacture of desking systemand furniture facades of various shapes. In particular, MDF can be used to make cabinets with a rounded top, as well as with smooth, curved lines that imitate curly panels.

Metal

Mainly the supporting parts of the furniture are made of metal. For this purpose, aluminum is used, as well as polished and chrome-plated steel. Most often, metal is used in those pieces of modular furniture in India that are designed in high-tech style.
