This is one hotel that declares it all by its name. There’s no ambiguity since it claims that it’s one of the “best values” in the United States. It does this with a careless disregard for punctuation and grammar. It puts anyone interested in staying there on notice that this motel blasts its trail and has its regulations. It, or maybe the apostrophe “America’s,” would have cost additional, and they would have wanted to offer the most value.

Whatever the reason, it’s a budget hotel designed for those looking for simple accommodations during their trip to Disneyland. My initial impressions about America’s Best Value Inn were not very positive, but after other experiences, I’m not convinced it’s a wrong choice. (“Not horrible” It’s a great endorsement!) There’s nothing extraordinary regarding America’s Best Value Inn & Suites Convention Center; however, it’s a great fit.

I had initially been pointed out Americas Best Value Inn’s number 16 position at TripAdvisor (it is now fallen to 22nd) as an example of the shakiness of the website. There’s likely some irony in the fact that I’ve ranked it above TripAdvisor (in fairness, they have a lot more hotels higher than Disneyland Hotel.

If money isn’t an issue, it’s not the number 16 or even 22 Hotel in Anaheim. It’s unlikely to even make it into the top fifty. For those on an extremely tight budget who need a spot to stay and want to be close to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. It’s located in a secure location, and the hotel’s management appeared reliable to me.

Update: See comments from reader “dan” below. Dan has some threatening remarks regarding America’s Best Value Inn. You may want to take note of these warnings as it’s much better to invest another $10 per night rather than staying in a shady hotel.

Let’s have a look at the rooms to discover the reason…

Okay, the room appears clean and large, which it was. On the other hand, it smelled like the carpeted the room with Febreeze to hide the smoke smell. This is like the motel version of the guy who believes that AXE could be described as a shampoo that comes in the form of a bottle.

There’s an issue of the moment that “spacious” crosses the line to “cavernous.” There was a decent 8-10 feet of space between the TV and bed, and it was just too small to view from the in bed. If you want a clear view, you’d need to lie in the middle of your floor. (I hope you are not bothered that your shorts smell similar to carpet shampoo!)

The good thing is that there was americas best value inn a refrigerator, microwave, and espresso maker inside this strange tiny breakfast nook. Additionally, the room was bright (these images are straight out of the camera, which is not often seen in hotel rooms) and vibrant. In general, I find cheap motel rooms dark, dull, and depressing.

The mattress was much better than I had expected from an affordable motel. This is to say that I could not feel any springs or springs at all, and it didn’t look to be like the mattress was more than me. The bed was still far from my most comfy sleep ever experienced. However, it was a good one. It wasn’t particularly good or bad. The pillows are pretty decent, and surprisingly.

To get out of the hotel’s central area to go into the bathroom, you had to pass through this vast closet, which was about the same size as the bathroom. I’ve never witnessed hotels make such a lousy utilization of space.

The bathroom was good, although it was tiny. It could have been nice for some of the other rooms to be dedicated to this area instead. The main issue was that I bought the towels from SCRATCH-R-US.

The shower was not spectacular. However, it got the job completed. Toiletries that were included were also of poor quality.

It was a surprise to me that the pool looked decent. According to Anaheim standards, it’s important to note that this is where most hotel pools appear to be carriers of the disease. I’d award this swimming pool “probably disease-free” status (high praise indeed); however, I didn’t want to risk the possibility of it. Sorry, readers, but I do not like you very much. There’s also a tree and fountain within the garden of America’s Best Value Inn & Suites Convention Center, but that’s all as amenities are concerned. Also, there’s parking for free and free WiFi and a simple cold-food breakfast which may be much more significant to your needs than the fountain.

It isn’t exactly a glowing report to date, but proximity and price are the main reasons to make reservations at Americas Best Value Inn. I can book the room tonight during the summer break for just $79. When I look at booking websites, there are a lot of other good walking choices that are around $139/night. (Ironically, there’s the resort fee of $3/night in this case. It’s hilarious, and since it’s just $3, I’ll leave you with my usual rant about resort fees. I’m left thinking, “what’s the point?” for a price that is so low. Maybe it’s a prank?)

All in all, Americas Best Value Inn & Suites is an asleep and shower crash pad that does not pretend to be anything more. It’s inexpensive and in a safe location, a short stroll to Disneyland for people who don’t expect anything more than price. If you’re thinking of an alternative to the Grand Californian as an alternative hotel, it’s not the ideal hotel. It’s far (FAR!) from the top hotel in Anaheim; however, when you’re for the entire day in the parks, it’s a good choice. The other hotels that are similarly priced will be a bit more spooky or away…or either.
