7 Tips To Staying Motivated While Working From Home

Have you ever found yourself totally motivated? Have you been so excited about something you have done or you were going to do that you were so full of energy? What about when you were reading a book or heard a quote or sermon? Where did all of your energy go? Did you do something about that motivation or did you just hold it all in? Did someone else benefit from what you learned and what you were so excited about or did you keep it for yourself?

This into music or even some podcasts from your favorite radio show can really help to keep you on the move. Maybe you don't do this all the time because it can be quite difficult to run and listen to music at the same time. Maybe use this on your longer runs.

Accept yourself as being human and let the mistakes fade away as you focus on your successes instead. This will keep you motivated through difficult times.

Purpose. Are you feeling discouraged, disappointed or frustrated? These feelings can stop you dead in your tracks. They stop your motivation. One way to stay motivated is to remember your original purpose for doing the tasks that you are in front of you. Reminding yourself of the original reason for venturing down your path in the first place will help to rekindle your excitement when things go wrong.

These motivational strategies I'm about to share with you are not silver bullets. But most of the time, these strategies work amazingly to get you out of your funk and into action.

Instead of only concentrating on all the weight you need to lose, break your progress up into smaller segments. If you need to lose 50 pounds don't concentrate on that number since it can be overwhelming. Instead divide your overall goal up into smaller, easier to accomplish goals. So instead of thinking about the 50 pounds you want to lose, just plan on losing 10 lbs. in 30 days. That way you'll have a lot of small successes along the way which should help you stay motivated.

Acknowledgements and rewards enhance motivation. You can perform better, when you are appreciated and rewarded for your hard work. Accept the little that you get in the form of acknowledgement or reward and stay motivated.

Third, we need to get motivated because... and here is the real clincher... because it feels better. Yes, that's right, it feels better. Like being in love feels better than hating people, like exercise feels better than sitting in front of the TV for hours on end, so being motivated feels better than its opposite. Thus, it behoves us to want to be motivated. Granted, there are people, highly motivated individual a small minority, who prefer the certainty of their misery to the risk of their happiness and so will not make the effort to change their state, but even so for most normal people we need to focus on this topic. Motivation is like muscles or like relationships: it can be developed with practice. And if we do this we stay fit, or we stay in loving relationships - we stay motivated.
