Cristiano Ronaldo asked to leave Manchester United and searches for new club

Cristiano Ronaldo is keen to leave Manchester United this summer, just one year after returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.

The Red Devils' poor results and performances in 2021/22 saw them miss out on Champions League qualification and that has left Cristiano Ronaldo looking for an exit route.

The No.7 was named United's Player of the Season, and he was in the PFA's Best XI of the season. Now, though, after just one season, he's trying to get out.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to be allowed to leave Manchester United if the Premier League club receive a satisfactory offer this transfer window," The Times have reported through Duncan Castles.

His decision is motivated by his desire to play in the Champions League for what's left of his career.

There has been speculation since the end of last season that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United, and the latest reports suggest that this may be a reality.

The Portuguese is not at all happy about playing in the Europa League next season with the Red Devils and is looking for a way out.

According to The Times, the Portuguese star has asked Manchester United to facilitate an exit if the club receives a satisfactory offer.

He wants to play for a team that is in the Champions League next season. This cannot be offered to him by the Red Devils, nor by Jose Mourinho's Roma or Newcastle.

Therefore, Chelsea and Sporting CP seem to be the leading candidates for his signature.
