Thousands of Hyundai-Kia Cars Reported Defects

The problem seems to occur in Hyundai and Kia cars in the United States (US). The cars are most likely defective and can cause the vehicle to spontaneously ignite even when not running.

This finally made the two South Korean (South Korean) brands give official notice. Citing CNN International, owners of nearly 500,000 cars and SUVs in the country of Puman Sam were asked to park their cars outdoors and away from buildings.

The case stems from a document filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Kia said it was aware that three vehicles had caught fire.

This problem arises because "foreign contaminants" i.e. the anti-lock brake computer control module can short circuit and possibly start a fire in the engine compartment. The company also says owners can continue to drive vehicles safely but they must be parked away from any buildings or structures.

The dealer itself is said to be checking this and replacing it. Kia car owners, for example, are expected to contact their Kia dealer or the company's customer service department.

Hyundai itself has announced a recall for the 2016-2018 model year Santa Fe SUV, 2017-2018 Santa Fe Sport SUV, 2019 Santa Fe XL model and 2014-2015 Tucson SUV. Meanwhile, Kia is recalling the 2016-2018 K900 sedan and 2014-2016 Sportage SUV.

In total, Hyundai recalled 357,830 units. Meanwhile, Kia recalled 126,747 units.

South Korean car manufacturers (South Korea) Hyundai and Kia have close relations. Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai's parent company, has a controlling stake in Kia.

The two companies share many techniques in their various models. But in the US, they operate as two completely separate companies.
