Haas wearing a plain white livery in Barcelona

The Haas F1 team will wear a plain white livery in their new car on the final day of pre-season testing at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit after breaking up with their main sponsor, Russian chemical fertilizer company Uralkali.

"The Haas F1 Team will display the VF-22 in a plain white livery, without the Uralkali branding, for the third and final day at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit on Thursday 25 February," the team said in a statement on Friday.

Haas has been wearing a Russian flag-themed livery with Uralkali inscriptions since last season as part of a sponsorship partnership.

Uralkali is the company of Russian billionaire Dmitry Mazepin, whose son Nikita races for the US team.

The 22-year-old Russian, who partnered with Mick Schumacher, tested the VF-22 in the opening two days of pre-season testing and will be back behind the wheel on Friday morning.

"Nikita will race as planned in the morning session with Mick Schumacher taking over at noon."

Haas would not comment further on their partnership with sponsors.

Russia launched a major offensive into Ukraine by land, air and sea on Thursday.

Formula 1, which has a racing calendar in Russia on September 25, said it would closely monitor the rapidly changing situation in Ukraine.

Four-times world champion Sebastian Vettel said at a press conference on Thursday that he would not take part in the Russian Grand Prix if the race went on.

Defending world champion Max Verstappen was also vehemently opposed, saying racing in a country at war was "not right".
