The particular Miracle And The particular Mind: Kindness

Within the 3rd article in the series on the "miracle" and the "mind, " we will bring kindness and unkindness into the conversation about specialness. In A Course in Wonders (ACIM), kindness is associated with humility and learning and unkindness is with arrogance and specialness. The miracle-minded obviously choose humility, learning and kindness which means they are going to eventually learn to reduce all specialness which is what keeps the separation from God. Belief in separation applies to everyone that is the One Son perceiving Himself as individual and different broken phrases. All unkindness stems from the stress in your brain when we repress our fear and sense of guilt as an alternative to forgiving our specialness desires. All of us blame and task it onto others who are really a part of us in actuality.

You will find two publications by Kenneth Wapnick on, "The Healing Power of Attention. " Volume 1 is on, "Releasing Judgment" and Volume 2 on, "Forgiving Our Limitations. inch I believe, these should be required reading and continuing study for anyone who is a critical Course student. The following passage states everything:

When you set aside the brilliant metaphysics of the Course in Wonders and its complex psychological insights, the Course could be pared down to one simple principle: Be kind. If you are not kind, then not only are happened practicing the Course, there is no way you may also start to understand it. No matter how brilliant knowing about it of its metaphysics may be, if you are not being kind to another individual, you are not doing what this Course is asking (The Healing Energy of Kindness, Vol. 1: Releasing Judgment by Kenneth Wapnick, p. 10, underline mine).

Despite this admonition, we insist on being unkind:

This inability to truly practice A training course in Miracles' kind principles of forgiveness that they research, and sometimes even teach, has perhaps been the most serious failing among its students. This book's sequel, "Few Choose to Pay attention, " discusses how students often hide their thought approach to specialness under the guise of religious counseling or companionship. The absence of simple kindness is, unfortunately, unmistakable to all except the Course student making the spiritual pronouncements (The Message Associated with A Course in Miracles: All Are usually Called, p. 306).

The non-dualistic meaning of kindness cannot be understood here within the knowledge of dualism as long as specialness is continually chosen because the pride originates from an unkind thought against God and Bliss. Our unwillingness to identify this about the ego, and what all that thought system is capable of doing, is something that hinders our improvement with the Training course. We must be willing to look at the ego with the Holy Spirit - the true Teacher - and take that darkness to Him for forgiveness. Absolutely nothing can be concealed and that's directly from the Training course.

Kindness To Others Is Kindness In order to Self

In his textbooks on kindness, Mister. Wapnick also discussions about the source of the person's unkind behavior is the same fear (and overpowered, oppressed guilt) that is working in our own mind and that is what unites us. We also have the same right-mind and the same capability to choose between them. Choosing to be kind really does not make all of us different or better; rather it indicates we are willing to rehearse the "kind principles" of the Training course so that we can learn to understand everything it is teaching. It's merely a question of priority.

He or she goes on to say that in learning how to be kind towards others, we are exercising being kind towards ourselves because, "you and your brother are one. They are a part of you. You are not different. " This goes straight to the heart of the ego's thought system wherein the concept of difference is how the ego started out - God and Their Son were individual and different - and undoes it. Even the slightest hint of specialness is the pride. What he is saying becomes clear if you really research and practice the kind forgiveness of the Course!

A serious student of the Course wants to really know what this means. These students would rather be a happy learner with the only true teacher - the Holy Spirit - as opposed to a spiritually special teacher of the ego in any form. They are happy to learn from Him how to be free of the burdens associated with denying the Truth:
