It might seem of yourself as a football super fan. You can list every Super Bowl since its debut in 1967. Perhaps you can list the entire active roster of your favorite team. Even so, as technology improves there are always new ways to appreciate the game and grow an even more devoted aficionado of America's favorite sport.

Let's quickly review some of the amazing improvements in football as a spectator sport throughout its modern history. First, there was television. Football is the perfect TV sport, known for its spectacular plays and with natural space for commercial breaks. Then came color TV : finally people had an easier time telling which team was which! Cable and Tv became popular in the 1980s, and by the 1990s the general public was introduced to the wonder of huge screens, flat screens, and hi-def broadcasts.

The elaborateness of the sport flourished with each advance. Debatable calls could be replayed again and again for the benefit of the client, until modern day instant replays also technically became a part of the game, with referees able to reference video when a close call is challenged by one of the teams' coaches. Another huge blessing for fans is the "First-Down Line, inches a computer-generated line that shows TV viewers where the team must get to in order to get a primary down. It might seem simple to just throw on a yellow line in the editing room, but plus its a fairly complicated process that will require a lot of advanced technology.

Hi-def is of course one of the greatest improvements available to football fans. With a big screen HI-DEF TV, you really can see every drop of sweat and blade of sod (or blade of artificial turf, as the case may be). It really enhances the experience to be able to see the effort, athleticism and acceptance concentrated in each player. As much as you probably wish you could be in the ground watching the game live, you have to admit that there are some awesome advantages to staying home : better beer for cheaper is one good reason, but so is the fact that from home you are actually getting a better view of the game than you would face-to-face.

There is yet another way that technology can transform the way you watch football as a super fan: the NFL Wednesday Ticket. This innovative sports package available on tv allows you access to over 14 games outside your local area every weekend. You thought you used to be die-hard before because you made sure to catch the highlights recap or investigate story in the paper in the mail. Well now you can always watch the matches of your favorite teams, not to mention keeping an eye on the competition. With all the spectacular developments in the past few decades, I think we can look forward to many new great changes in the coming years. Who knows what they will think of next? Meantime, let tv make you the best fan you can be.
