Marvel Studios is only a short time away from restarting its Phase 4 slate with Moon Knight, the franchise's first project of 2022. Oscar Isaac will take on the titular hero in one of the MCU's darkest series to date - a darkness that came through in the first clip from the show that recently debuted to the public. This six-episode show will add plenty of new dynamics to the MCU behind its first new character of the year.

Coming in as the MCU's fifth live-action Disney+ show, Moon Knight will be the first one that features a leading hero never seen in the story before.

Currently, the press from around the world are taking in the show's first four episodes and teasing that this could be one of the MCU's best projects to date. While some are worried by how much material those press members received (four full episodes), it's not enough to deter fans from marking their calendars for Moon Knight's March 30 debut.

Since screeners are making their way through various outlets, fans are naturally wondering how long each episode will be in terms of runtime. Now, those specific numbers are out in the world with less than a month left until Moon Knight begins streaming all over the world.

In Moon Knight, Isaac plays mercenary Marc Spector slash gift shop employee Steven Grant slash night-time vengeance dealer Moon Knight slash possibly New York cabbie Jake Lockley in Marvel’s first stab at a full supernatural superhero project in the MCU. Why all the slashes? Well, Marc suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and therefore has a handful of identities to choose from when he’s fighting crime. I didn’t even count his psychic connection to Khonshu the Egyptian moon god there, who in Marvel Comics selects Marc to be his avatar on Earth in exchange for saving his life.

Confused? Yes, we all probably will be for a while as the complex story unfolds on Disney+ over six episodes this spring, but not as confused as Marc. Often depicted as struggling with his mental health, the character is a lot for Marvel to tackle in the often-breezy Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if any phase of the MCU can get the job done properly, it’s Phase 4 aka The Multiverse of Sadness.

Die-hard Moon Knight fans have been waiting for an opportunity to see the Fist of Khonshu onscreen for years, and there have been some perceived near misses over the years. Back in 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn told a fan on Twitter that he had “a great idea” for a Moon Knight movie but simply didn’t have the time to pursue it. Later, in 2018, former Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight also expressed a desire to develop a project for the problematic character (what might the Netflix Marvel version of this story have been?). However, 2022 will be the year that Moon Knight finally makes his Marc on Disney+.

But while we've gotten a teaser, a full trailer and even a Super Bowl spot for the series, it still feels like we've witnessed just a little of what will play out on-screen. As we await our chance to really "embrace the chaos," we've tracked down some useful information about the series that you probably can't glean from those clips.

Here's everything you need to know, including who's in the cast and what the internet has said about that attention-stealing accent.

Isaac is taking on Grant and his jumble of other identities. Ethan Hawke will also star as the series' main antagonist, Arthur Harrow, a religious zealot whose righteous mission becomes murderous, according to USA Today. May Calamawy will portray a character named Layla (we still don't know much about her -- she's missing from the Moon Knight comics), and F. Murray Abraham will voice Egyptian deity Khonshu.
