Home Security Systems and the State With the Highest Homicide Rate

Home Security Systems and the State With the Highest Homicide Rate

There is a popular narrative that large blue states like California and New York have the highest murder rates. This narrative is convenient, but it is wildly wrong. Many people blame Democratic policies for higher murder rates. This is not the case. This false narrative has also been perpetuated by Republican lawmakers. Let's not blame Democratic policies or blame them for higher murders rates. Let us look at the data and find out why these numbers are so extreme.

The murder rate is higher in Washington D.C. than in the rest. According to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics, Washington D.C. had an equivalent state rate of 24.4 per 100,000 people in 2020. By contrast, Maine had the lowest murder rate, with only 1.6 killings per 100,000 people. Other states that had lower murder rates included Maine and Idaho, as well as Massachusetts and New York City.

The shocking revelation that Republican-run and Democratic-run states had higher murders rates is starkly in contrast to the opposite. Democrats criticize Democrats for their "racist and liberal" policies, while Republicans often blame Democrats. Although it is true that murder rates in Republican-run states are higher, it is important to remember that they also control their camera ezviz states. Eight of the ten most violent states in America voted in favor of a Republican both in the 2016 and 2020 presidential election.

While red states don’t get a lot attention for their murder rates, they do generate a lot. New Mexico, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, and Tennessee were among the states with the highest homicide rate in the nation. New Mexico is the only state that voted for a Democratic presidential nominee. This is because of its high murder rates. Eight of the ten states with highest homicides voted for Trump during 2020.

Between 2019-2020, the U.S.'s homicide rate has risen by 30%. It is expected it to surpass 14 per 100,000 by 2020. In 1980, it was less than ten murders per 100,000. But today, it has surpassed the ten-per-hundred-homicide-per-year mark. What has changed in the last few decades? Listed below are some of the most notable cities in the U.S.

Chicago saw 105 murders during July 2020, while 44 occurred in the same month. According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report for the year, murders in America will rise by 30 percent by 2020. This is the largest single-year increase since 1960. Low-income cities also have higher murder rates due to fewer opportunities. 18.6% of Louisiana's population lives below the poverty level, compared with 13.1% in the United States. Meanwhile, 4.9% of its workforce is unemployed.

The highest murder rate in 2020 was in California. It had 2,203 murders in 2020, which is twice the national average. It was lower in Texas. Its murder rate was just over 61 per 100,000. This is lower than the national average. Rhode Island recorded the lowest murder rate. The next highest murder rate in 2020 was in Pennsylvania. While these aren't necessarily the worst states in the U.S. they are still among the worst places in America to live.
