Hades Wiki - Uncovering Hades' Hidden Aspects

Hades features rich new hand-painted environments, immersive storytelling, and responsive action. Its electrifying original score and renowned gameplay are complemented by the power of modern technology to render realistic characters in stunning detail.

Increasing the power of each Infernal Arm or weapon in Hades requires unlocking its fourth hidden aspect, which is usually hidden until specific circumstances occur. These often involve paying a substantial amount of Titan Blood and talking to specific characters.
The Stygian Blade

Hades, the dark web url Greek mythology-inspired action-roguelike from Supergiant Games, continues to win hearts even years after its release. Its main character, Zagreus, fights his way through the underworld to reunite with his mother, receiving aid from the gods and other legendary Greek figures on his quest. As he fights, players can upgrade his weapons and unlock special Aspects to make their journey easier. While some of these Aspects are easy to find, others take a bit more detective work. Each of the six Infernal Arms has a hidden Aspect that can be unlocked once a particular condition is met.

The Stygian Blade is your starting weapon, and the first Aspect you can unlock. It gives the sword a special ability called Bull Rush, which lets it be used as a shield and weapon simultaneously. This makes it a good choice for players who prefer ranged builds. It also pairs well with any Aspects that give a damage boost or slow enemies, such as the Dash Boons of Dionysus or Posieden, or Ares's damage buffs. To unlock this Aspect, simply use one vial of Titan Blood and interact with the weapon display case.

Next up is the Eternal Spear, which is the second of the six Infernal Arms you can unlock. It is a longsword that was once held by Poseidon. This Aspect is a good choice for players who want to play with ranged attacks, and it can be upgraded with the Aspect of Achilles, which gives a big boost to spear damage.

This Aspect, which is meant to be used with the Twin Fists of Malphon, speeds up Zagreus's attacks and special abilities. It also increases the damage of any bloodstone casts he makes. The Aspect of Talos is another of the best weapons Aspects in Hades, and it can be a great pick for spear users. It allows them to hurl their spears at enemies, which can then return back to them for more hits.

These are just a few of the many Aspects that can be unlocked in Hades. To see the full list, as well as a guide on how to unlock them, check out the official game's wiki.
The Eternal Spear

Hades, the Greek mythology-inspired action-roguelike from Supergiant Games, offers a wealth of ways for players to increase the power of their Infernal Arms. Beyond the basic weapon upgrades available through Nectar gifts and the weapons' normal attack and special abilities, each Infernal Arm can also gain powerful permanent buffs by unlocking hidden weapon aspects. These weapon-altering forms, which are tied to legends unaffiliated with the weapons' original Greek names (Guan Yu, for instance), can dramatically change a character's playstyle and provide an additional way to break the cycle of random chance in the Underworld.

Unlike the Stygian Blade's weapon aspects, which are based on Greek gods, Eternal Spear's weapon aspects revolve around other legendary figures, such as Arthur, Beowulf and Gilgamesh. Each of these weapon aspects unlocks a new type of special ability, and each one can be leveled up with Titan Blood in addition to the weapon's regular attacks.

The aspect of Guan Yu, for instance, grants the spear a slow-moving, Zelda-style spin attack that can be used to keep enemies at bay. Another notable feature, the Aspect of Achilles, lets the player retrieve their spear after using its special, a move called Raging Rush. Each level of this weapon aspect increases the amount of damage a player can deal after this maneuver.

Each of the weapon aspects players can unlock with the Eternal Spear offers a unique playstyle to consider, making it difficult to decide which is best for their characters. However, each of them adds interesting options to the game's already robust arsenal.

Each of these aspects can be unlocked with three Titan Blood, and each of them can be upgraded for an extra three units of Titan Blood. Players can earn more Titan Blood by defeating the Fury sisters and other bosses in the Underworld, by completing prophecies or by trading with the Wretched Broker. Investing in these weapon aspects will make it easier for players to build the most reliable character possible for their run through Hades. It might take a few runs to unlock all of the Aspects, as some require dialogue from certain NPCs that may not appear after a single encounter.
The Infernal Arm

The indie roguelite Hades has a lot to offer, and a big part of that is its many ways of shaking up gameplay each run. From weapon aspects to critical boons, it’s possible to create a completely new experience every time you play. It’s a great system, and one that keeps the game fresh even well after your first playthrough.

One of the more unique things about the weapons in Hades is that each has a hidden aspect you can unlock, and it can drastically change the weapon’s capabilities. These are almost complete overhauls of the weapon’s moveset, passive abilities, and more. These can be incredibly useful, and are worth the extra work to find.

Generally, the hidden aspects correspond to famous heroes or legendary figures, but they often have a lore connection as well. For example, the Aspect of Arthur can add a boost to damage, while the Aspect of Beowulf can improve his shield defenses. This means that you can use these Aspects to add a bit of flair and variety to your playstyle, and each will have its own story behind it.

Each of the four major aspects can be unlocked with a different combination of items and events. To access the fourth Aspect for each weapon, you’ll need to have bought three of the weapons’ mirror upgrades and kept a specific item at some point. After that, a certain character will want to speak with Zagreus, and the fourth aspect will be revealed.

It’s important to note that some of these fourth aspects may take a while to appear. However, once you do, you’ll be able to unleash some true power. This can lead to some incredible combinations, like combining the Twin Fists with the Aspect of Gilgamesh to speed up attacks and the Aspect of Talos for extra dash damage.

It’s a fantastic way to keep the game interesting after it becomes routine, and it’s something that I hope Supergiant Games continues to expand as the game gets older. With such a deep, rich, and exciting world to explore, I can’t wait to see what happens next in the saga of Zagreus and his struggle to escape the Underworld.
The Bow

Hades, the Greek mythology-inspired action-roguelike from Supergiant Games, features an abundance of ways for its protagonist, Zagreus, to get stronger as he fights his way through the underworld to reunite with his mother. From simple upgrades like Boons to powerful permanent buffs that can be unlocked via Weapon Aspects, there are a lot of ways for players to customize their builds and make the most of each run.

The first weapon that the player unlocks is the Stygian Blade, the longsword that once belonged to Poseidon and serves as the game's default. This sword features a variety of swings and a medium range, making it a solid all-rounder for early runs. It also has a good amount of potential for customization via its three Weapon Aspects, each of which can be leveled up independently at the cost of Titan Blood.

Unlike most of the other Weapon Aspects, the Aspect of Rama is one that actually improves the weapon's normal playstyle, as it turns its special into a precise projectile attack that can pierce enemies in the head and neck, and increases the damage and range of its regular attacks. Combined with a good amount of Boons, it makes for an extremely strong build that can help Zagreus quickly take down enemies and reach the final boss in record time.

This Aspect is one of the most important in the game, as it allows the bow to deal massive damage with its arrows by increasing their maximum size and the number of arrows that can be fired per charge. In addition, this Aspect increases the chance that a Critical Hit will be dealt with each of the bow's attacks, and each of its five levels boosts this effect further.

This Aspect is fairly easy to unlock, as it is the only Aspect that the Eternal Spear can use. In order to unlock it, you simply need to speak to Nyx when she mentions the spear, then visit the weapon in Skelly's room to equip it and press "Reveal". This will add the Aspect to the weapon, which is already equipped with the Aspect of Zagreus.
