The kanji is also recycled into other words that have to do with laughing, such as sanma (mackerel) and shiokara (fermented, salted squid innards). It is an integral part of Japan’s drinking culture, often used to accompany alcoholic beverages. Sakana is usually served in izakayas, but it can also be made at home. Many Japanese variety shows and magazines feature recipes for homemade sakana.

The band’s debut took place in December 2006 with the mini-album Namida Neko (Cat’s tears) and the single New Romancer – Shinkeikei ajinsei (New Romancer -The nervous system of demi-humanity). The second album, Maou Taiten, was released in January 2007. This release includes the title-track, which is animated by a dark and creepy guitar playing within a technical and well-structured metal sound, while Kuroneko’s voice dominates everything; the song talks about a dark girl who symbolizes evil and pain for whoever meets her.
