You've likely felt the power of energy from coffee due to its high caffeine content. It's not unusual to reach for a cup of coffee or an energy drink to get a full night's sleep prior to a last. You can also get many other benefits from coffee like:

  • Helps fight depression
  • Helps you burn fat
  • Helps boost your physical performance

The caffeine in coffee is the main reason for its energy-boosting properties. This stimulant is absorbed into your bloodstream after you drink coffee. Then it travels to the brain. Caffeine works in the brain to block the inhibitory neurotransmitter Adenosine. This raises the levels of other neurotransmitters, like norepinephrine or dopamine. This leads to the enhanced firing of neurons.
