Another way Afrobeats have become a worldwide phenomenon is with the advent of charts. Afro Nation is launching a chart in the UK to showcase the music of UK-based artists. Afrobeats, in essence, is a fusion of R&B dancehall and West African pop culture. Afrobeats' songs focus on positive, joyful melodies.

The Afrobeats trend was first noticed throughout the music industry once Drake introduced it to the world in his single "One Dance." After the song had an estimated one billion listeners on Spotify it became the most downloaded song ever to be released on the streaming service. This has made Afrobeats more accessible to mainstream users. It has also been recognized internationally, and artists from all over globe are now collaborating on music. However, the trend has only recently become mainstream and Drake hasn't been the sole artist to challenge the trend.

Afrobeats is a popular genre in music that blends African sounds and Black American influences. The result is a distinct fascinating blend of the two.
