7 Things About Cleaning company Your Boss Wants to Know

So when you grab that knob in the kitchen have you noticed that your hand sticks to it for half a second? There is likely a lot more on that knob than you are noticing. Even if your hand isn't sticking to your kitchen knobs there is probably a lot of dirt, grime and frankly bacteria and germs and other things that are making their home on those knobs and getting on your hands every time you touch them.

Think about what happens in the kitchen. Generally the kitchen is a space to prepare food and that includes raw food, cooked food and anything else that is food related. As you are going about the plans to prepare the food chances are that food is getting on your hands and then being transferred to cabinet knobs as you need to get into your cabinets to get pots, pans, utensils and ingredients. This means there is a little bit of transfer in each of those touches. While it may not be noticeable to you, any couple drops of raw food, cooked food and anything of the like can be a perfect breeding ground of bacteria and germs on those kitchen knobs.

Every now and then you need to do a deep cleaning of your kitchen knobs. Here's what this entails:

Remove Them From the Cabinets

I know, no one wants to remove the knobs from all of the cabinets in their kitchen. But, this is something you need to do every now and then, maybe just a few times of the year during those deep cleaning sessions that you do on the house.

While you are moving them you may want to do a little marking to know which cabinet knobs go in which spaces. Over time, different cabinet knobs can kind of create their own perfect fit on the cabinetry they are attached to. So, it's best to make sure you know where everything goes.

Using a sharpie marker you can mark somewhere on the knob that is not visible from the outside, such as where the knob attaches to the cabinet. Write down what number it is. For example, if you start at one end of your kitchen, pulling the knobs off one at a time, they will be labeled 1,2,3,4 and so on from one side of the kitchen to the other. By marking all of the cabinet knobs you will know where to put them back when it's time to reassemble them.

Cleaning

Now it's time to do some cleaning. You are going to want to take a mixture of soap and warm water or an anti bacterial wipe of some sort and clean the knobs thoroughly. You want to clean both front and back of the knobs as well as all of the parts leading up to where they attach to the cabinet. Remember, anywhere in here a drip of something could have made its way. So, take your time and clean them extra carefully.

You may also want to take this time to take a look at where those knobs attach to the cabinetry. Quite often dirt, juices, etc manage to slip into that tiny space between the kitchen knobs and cabinets. Again this is another place where germs can collect, grow and breed. So cleaning this is a very good idea.

Once both parts are clean let them dry and then reattach them. In the same way that you took them off screw each of those kitchen knobs back on and then step back and enjoy those kitchen knobs that you now know are cleaner and safer for your family to use.

Kitchen deep cleaning should be a part of your routine if you run a commercial kitchen. Not only does it help you stay organised and keep your kitchen running smoothly, it's also the best way to ensure you stay on top of your health and safety regulations. However, commercial kitchens are busy places and sometimes it can be hard to know when the right time is for your deep kitchen cleaning to be carried out.

Why Do I Need Deep Kitchen Cleaning?

A professional deep kitchen cleaning company will have all the equipment and expertise to return your kitchen to a 'good as new' state, but why is that so important. Firstly, bacteria is invisible which means there could be areas in your kitchen that are being missed by general cleaning that a kitchen cleaning company will seek out.

In addition, the build-up of grease, grime and dirt in ovens, vents and extractor fans cause your machinery to work less efficiently so the worse the dirt gets, the more you will be spending on energy. Also, this type of dirt build up can be dangerous as it leads to an increased risk of fire.

When to Clean

A good cleaning company will tailor their services to your schedule, even carrying out cleaning overnight if that's the least disruptive way to do it. However, you can still pick a time that will be most beneficial to you by assessing how your business runs.

For example, in schools and colleges the summer break is an ideal time for kitchen cleaning as the chances are, your kitchen will be at its dirtiest by this point and it won't be in use whilst students are on holiday.

If you run a restaurant, café or gastro pub, then consider when your slowest periods are and schedule your cleaning around this time. For example, just after New Year and the height of summer are generally times when people eat out less.

How Often Do I Need to Clean?

The number of deep kitchen cleans you have throughout a year is entirely up to you, but all commercial kitchens should have a deep clean annually. In very busy kitchens it may be necessary to carry out deep cleaning more often, so speak to your deep kitchen cleaning company and let them come and assess your kitchen so they can give you a better idea of how often cleaning should be undertaken.

Chemicals and Detergents

When you speak to your kitchen cleaning company, ask them about the equipment and materials they use to clean. Whilst chemicals may be appropriate for some kitchens they may not be a good idea in others, but these days, most deep kitchen cleaning companies utilise powerful steam cleaners to get rid of dirt, so there may not be a need to use chemicals at all.

So whether your kitchen is in a hospital, care home, school or restaurant, make sure you stay on top of Informative post health and safety with professional deep kitchen cleaning.
