In 1850, the first bank card was issued. In a merger with Dine and Sign, the firm generated a "basic function" charge card. Unlike today, the Diners Club needed complete settlement of the bill with every statement. Various other business, such as Carte Blanche and American Express, complied with. In 1958, they developed the very first globally network of bank card. These companies at first provided charge cards but later created them with charge card functions.
