Kanpur is the largest metropolis from the Indian condition of Uttar Pradesh. This metropolis has a history ranging from the thirteenth century. Raja Kanti Deo of Prayag founded the village of Kohna in 1207 AD which was afterwards called Kanpur. Kanpur experienced a strong reference to Kannauj. Having said that Kanpur was not a town but a village until the 18th century and did not have any significance.
