아르바이트 대표포털 아르바이트몬이 올해 알바를 해본 적이 있는 알바생 1691명을 표본으로 근무 중 부당대우 경험을 묻는 설문조사를 실시한 결과 올 들어 아르바이트 직무 중 ‘억울한 일을 당한 적이 있다’는 아르바이트생은 73.7%에 달했다. 이와 같이 응답은 여성 76.6%, 남성 69.3%로 여성 알바생이 여성 아르바이트생 보다 높았다. 특이하게 억울한 일을 당했다는 아르바이트생 중 70.9%는 자신의 경험이 ‘전문가의 도움이 요구되는 상태이었다’고 답했다.

허나 막상 이와 같은 부당대우를 당하더라도 대다수의 아르바이트생들은 전문가에 도움을 청하지 않고 혼자서 해결하려고 애쓰거나 감내하고 있었다고 알바몬은 밝혔다. 즉 ‘전문가의 도움이 필요한 부당대우를 경험했다’고 답한 아르바이트생 중 21.0%만이 ‘순간 노무사 등 전문가에게 도움을 요청했다’고 밝힌 것. 나머지 79.0%는 도움조차 신청하지 않고 과도한 것으로 보여졌다.
