Ronaldo The Brazilian legend dreams of signing Marcelo and Dani Alves to Real Valladolid

Real Valladolid president Ronaldo Nazario is dreaming of bringing two big names to the club this summer in the form of Marcelo and Dani Alves, with the two Brazilian full-backs without a club.

Ronaldo will try to take advantage of his good relationship with his two countrymen, and is looking to sign them for the newly-promoted LaLiga Santander side.

According to Brazilian media outlet UOL Esporte, Ronaldo is looking for the two full-backs, who would give the club a publicity boost as well as offering something on the pitch.

The same source report that the salaries are not a problem for the team. Even still, it won't be an easy task to bring either to the club.

Both are looking to reach Qatar 2022 and play for Brazil.

After ending his 16-year spell with Real Madrid and becoming the player with the most titles won with the club, Marcelo is already being sought after by several teams across Europe, among them AC Milan, who want to strengthen their squad after winning the Serie A title and ahead of their participation in the Champions League next season.

While Alves, who left Barcelona after a second spell with the Blaugrana, is also wanted by several teams, including Brazil's Flamengo, who are looking to bring the full-back home and sign him for at least one season.

Both Alves, 39, and Marcelo, 34, are looking to continue playing at a good level to be in the best possible shape to be considered for the 2022 World Cup this winter.

The Spanish season is still several weeks away, but Ronaldo and Real Valladolid urgently need to start strengthening their squad to try to stay in the Spanish top flight.

Valladolid were relegated in 2020/21, before being promoted at the first attempt.

Brazilian media outlet UOL Esporte, have reported that Ronaldo is aiming big, as he hopes to pair 39-year-old Alves with Marcelo, 34, at Valladolid.

Alves, played for Barcelona from 2008 to 2016, before briefly making a come-back under former team-mate Xavi last season.

In his return to the Nou Camp, he made 17 appearances in total, scoring one goal.

Though Alves had been hoping to stay at the Nou Camp for a further season, Xavi decided not to extend the right-back's contract, meaning he is free to look for another club.

Marcelo had also been hoping to stay at Real Madrid, after an incredible 15-year stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Likes Barcelona with Alves, Real Madrid decided not to renew Marcelo's contract, meaning he will be free to play for another club, for the first time since January 2007.

An emotional tribute ceremony was held for Marcelo, in which Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and club legend Raul were both left in tears.

'I played for the greatest club in the world,' he said.

He added: 'I want to thank my wife Clarice, I wouldn't be the man I am without her. And my sons who watched their dad play for the greatest club in the world.'

When Marcelo arrived at Real Madrid, club legend Raul was in the autumn of his career but still appeared to leave a significant mark on the young Brazilian.

He paid tribute to the legendary forward, saying: 'Thank you Raul for being a captain and an example for me. I have never said it but you have been my role model. Thank you.'

Ronaldo became the majority owner of Valladolid in September 2018, after buying 51 percent of the club’s shares in a deal worth £25million.

Right-back Dani Alves will leave Barcelona after his second spell at the club came to an end.

Despite being 39-year-old, Alves reportedly has no plans to retire and could join Real Valladolid.

He is the most decorated player in football history winning 46 trophies overall in his career.

Alves returned to the Nou Camp for six months in the second half of last season after being a Barca man for eight years previously.
