Rodrygo extends his contract at Real Madrid until 2028

Real Madrid have tied down Rodrygo Goes to a new long-term contract, with the Brazilian forward signing a new deal until 2028.

The young striker has been successful since joining the club’s first team in 2019 and Los Blancos felt compelled to improve and extend his contract which was due to expire in 2025.

Rodrygo Goes has renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2028, with a salary increase and a termination clause of 1 billion euros.

There is no date for the announcement, which could even be delayed until after their summer tour.

The move proves the club's confidence in the young Brazilian.

The commitment, extending his original contract by three more seasons, rewards not only Rodrygo's work and attitude, but also the tangible results of that progression: his end of the 2021/22 season was spectacular.

Since April, in the decisive stretch of the season, he scored seven goals and provided three assists in 13 appearances.

Three of those goals helped his team to their 14th Champions League: the goal that forced extra time in the quarter-final second leg against Chelsea and the brace that took Carlo Ancelotti's side into extra time in the semi-finals against Manchester City, all with Real Madrid on the brink of the abyss.

After having enjoyed his holidays, without neglecting his physique, Rodrygo approaches pre-season with the aim of establishing himself in the starting line-up.

It won't be easy, but he is currently ahead of Marco Asensio who has an uncertain future at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

This will be the forward's fourth season with the club and after five titles (one Champions League, two LaLiga titles and two Spanish Super Cups), he is also looking ahead to what looks set to be his first World Cup.

Rodrygo played a key role in Real Madrid’s recent UEFA Champions League victory, scoring important goals against Chelsea in the quarter-finals before scoring a crucial goal against Manchester City near the end of the semi-finals.

The only thing missing is the signing of an extension to the agreed extension between Real Madrid and Rodrygo. The vision is that this will happen next week.

The striker’s release phase will be € 1 billion, as it has become a common occurrence for Real Madrid for key players, which is a ‘withdrawal’ number.

the number set by the offices to protect their stars. For a long time, several beggars have called Brazil, with special emphasis from the Premier League, but the most important thing for Real Madrid and the player has always been together.

Rodrygo Goes has announced that he’s going to extend his contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2028. The Brazilian forward truly came of age in 2021/22 and proved crucial as Madrid lifted both La Liga and their 14th Champions League.

Rodrygo, speaking with ABC in comments carried by Fabrizio Romano, revealed that playing for Madrid is a realisation of his dream. Madrid have included a €1bn release clause in the six-year deal to ward off any potential suitors for him. The Brazilian, who’s earned five caps for his country and scored one goal, has contributed 18 goals and 21 assists in 108 games for Madrid.

Rodrygo, 21, was born in Osasco in Brazil and began his football career with Santos at the age of ten. He broke into their first team at 16 and had secured a move to the Santiago Bernabeu by the time he hit 18. After serving a brief time with Castilla he stepped up to the first team and he’s now a key member of the squad.
