Chelsea targeting Premier League Cup

Chelsea qualified for the English League Cup final after getting rid of Tottenham Hotspur. Having reached the final, Chelsea are determined to win the trophy.

Chelsea eliminated Tottenham in the semi-finals of the English League Cup with a 3-0 aggregate advantage. After winning 2-0 in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, the Blues won 1-0 at home to Tottenham on Thursday (13/1/2022) early morning hrs.

This is Chelsea's third final since being handled by Thomas Tuchel in the past year. Previously, they reached the final of the Champions League and FA Cup.

During his time under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea won two trophies, namely the Champions League and the European Super Cup. Now, Chelsea has the opportunity to add to its trophy collection in the English League Cup.

Not a few consider the English League Cup to have the lowest prestige among the competitions there. However, for Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, the trophy is still a trophy that must be won.

"To be in three finals in less than a year, that's incredible, but now we want to win. When we lost in the FA Cup final it hurt a lot, and now we have a chance in the League Cup and we have to go one step at a time. ," said Azpilicueta as reported by the club's official website.

"That's the target when we start every competition, we want to go as far as possible and fight for the trophy. Of course we are happy to qualify, to play in the final again, but now we want more, we want trophies. it's just nice to be there, you want to win, and we'll do our best."
